The original Ramskill Roofer

Robert Richard Ramskill: Bob started his roofing career in July of 1954 for William Dryden, which then became Dryden and Kennedy’s. He then worked for Marley’s and Burton roofing, among many others along the way. Bob went on to win Apprentice of the Year for 3 years running, 1956/57/58

His career soon blossomed, his brilliant attitude and work mentality went on to win him apprentice of the country in 1959. The Apprentice of the Country was a huge competition held in London! Bob was selected to representing Hull Tech College and won first place with a whopping score of 95%.

Working alongside his brothers Derek, David and Tony, Ramskill Roofing was born undertaking roof repairs in Yorkshire and beyond. They were soon followed by sons David and Paul also working alongside him. Then at 16 years old joined his grandson Craig who also had the pleasure of working as an apprentice alongside his grandfather.


 

 

Ramskill Roofing in the present

David, Paul and Craig Ramskill are now the three directors of the company, and take full responsibility for the work undertaken, taking part in every aspect of the work, to ensure it is performed to a high level always. We carry out roof repairs in Yorkshire, and nationwide for larger commercial contracts.

Craig Ramskill has worked with Ramskill Roofing since the age of 16. He completed his apprenticeship under the watchful eye of his grandad, Bob! He achieved distinctions in all aspects of his apprenticeship and has gone on to work all over the county with Ramskill Roofing, developing his skills and learning new techniques.
